Sandra Petrillo, St. Dorothy Daycare Technician
We were busy this week at St. Dorothy Elementary School! We picked kale from the school’s Nutritower and made kale chips with the younger children. They loved it, and even asked for a second helping, which was amazing because the majority of these children had never eaten kale and did not even knew what it was before learning about it through our indoor hydroponic garden!
As for the older children, we made pesto with basil grown in our Nutritower. They had a great time and were surprised at how much basil had grown, and how much more was still growing after we had picked basil for our pesto.
The children are having fun with this Nutritower and they are excited to make pasta and pesto!
