Dante: Reader’s Theatre

Having a mixed age group of Grades 4 to 6 isn’t always easy, as not everyone gets along.

Looking to find something that would get everyone to work together, I planned a Reader’s Theatre activity. In Reader’s Theatre, students do not need to memorize their parts. They knew what parts they would play in the production and had a great time working on props prior to the showcase. Everyone worked wonderfully well together to make it funny and entertaining for all.

At the end of the activity in an attempt to extend the fun, I asked the students, if we added commercials in between acts, what do you think we could advertise? The responses were abundant and we’ve turned this Friday afternoon activity into a Daycare Week theatre production…stay tuned!
