Parkdale: Let’s Taste Mexico!

Johanna Donovan, B.A.S.E. Media Advisor

With the B.A.S.E. Daycare Food Revolution Day Celebration coming up later this month, we thought we’d give you a little taste of the cooking that goes on in our daycares!

On a frigid Friday in March, B.A.S.E. Daycare students at Parkdale Elementary School warmed up with a culinary trip to Mexico. A small group of students got to cook and eat a delicious vegetarian chili on rice, roasted elote (corn) rolled in mayonnaise and cheese and a garlicky pico de gallo salsa. While the chili simmered, students played a game of food-themed jeopardy before feasting on the fruits of their labour! Check out this video documenting their colourful and yummy pedagogical day.

About Daycare Matters

With this blog, daycare staff, students and parents will get to see and share the wonderful things that go on in the EMSB daycares, from beading, dance and animation to film making, songwriting and green projects!
