Bancroft: Build Your Own Board Game

Stefanie Erskine, B.A.S.E. Animator

This fall at Bancroft Elementary School, students in the B.A.S.E. Daycare program were busy inventing, designing and building their very own unique board game. From start to finish, Grade 4, 5 and 6 students worked together to create their own game from scratch. It took 10 weeks to complete their Halloween themed board game that included trick or treaters, haunted houses, and mysterious teleporting portals.

“I really enjoyed this activity; it gave us all a chance to be creative and forced us to work together as a team. I also like how everyone contributed something. Even if it was just colouring something in or making up a rule, everyone got to add something.” Chloe, Grade 4, Bancroft Elementary.

The students are looking forward to unveiling and playing their game with other children in the B.A.S.E. Daycare.
