Cedarcrest: A Spooktacular Day

Catherine Cottis, Cedarcrest Daycare Educator

In the early hours of Hallows Eve, the little goblins started slowly creeping in. Cedarcrest Daycare was teeming with excitement and anticipation for a day of fun-filled activities all happily planned by the educators. The children made pumpkin-shaped Rice Krispy treats that they had fun decorating as jack-o’-lanterns, which they later devoured. The children also enjoyed a mummy-wrapping competition, which brought a lot of laughter.

The fun didn’t end there! Each child decorated their own pumpkin, which they took home. These were ordinary pumpkins transformed into extraordinary masterpieces showcasing each child’s artistic creativity. The pumpkins were not the only things that were painted. Every child had beautiful tattoos painted on their faces and arms. By the end of a long, fun-packed day there wasn’t a child who didn’t leave with a big ghostly smile on their face.
