St. Monica: Harvesting Happiness

On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, students from the St. Monica Green Club hosted a fabulous Harvest Party in the Schoolyard Garden. The goal was to celebrate a full season of harvesting, and to attract community members, parents and fellow students into the garden.

Students were in charge of welcoming people into the garden and offering a guided tour, serving food to the guests, and running two activity stations: face painting, and scarecrow making! The scarecrow is now an integral part of the garden, and hopefully will scare the squirrels away next season.

People who attended the harvest party even had the chance of tasting delicious homemade raspberry jam, with raspberries from our very own garden!

The harvest party was a definite success, and the Green Club did a wonderful job of showing off the hard work they put into the garden. Thank you to our great hosts!
